The Power of Color in your Wardrobe

I recently had an event to attend where I was going back and forth on not necessarily “what” to wear, but “what color” that I felt like wearing. This event realistically called for the color blue, and I was trying really hard to come up with something that fit the criteria, but every time I attempted, I kept being drawn to the color red. Not just drawn to, but at times more like pushed! I also thought long and hard about wearing something black, but I kept telling myself that would come off looking too formal for this occasion so back to something red it was.

Colors all have meaning and carry an energetic vibration. Red is the color that speaks heavily to our inner power. It has long been associated with strength, including the strength of character, morals and even the mind. The color is used as protection against spiteful, ill-natured and malevolent people and situations. Red is also the color of vitality. ❤️🙏🪬🧿

Interestingly, “red” is thought to “burn through anger.” For example, wood is the element associated with family. The color red burns through the anger, sort of like a neutralizer to diffuse squabbles. 🔥🪵

Ironically, the color which most complements and balances red is turquoise, although a standalone Green or Blue will also create balance. The color blue can instill a sense of serenity, calmness, as well as stability and loyalty. It is also associated with clarity, communication and inner peace. 💙Conversely, blue also represent coldness, aloofness, lack of emotion, unfriendliness.

You might have noticed in the photo that I accented my red dress with black accessories. Black is the color that conveys self-control and independence. Black absorbs negative energy and creates a barrier between itself and the outside world. The color can provide comfort while it gives protection from external emotional stress and the outside world.

What colors are you wearing or thinking about wearing? The next time you are deciding what to wear, consider the message you want to send to the world and let the colors you wear speak for you.
